Alicia Greeley

Office Manager

As Messiah’s Office Manager, I am blessed to use my spiritual gifts of service and administration to help our church run smoothly and efficiently so that we can fulfill our mission, “to make tangible the life-transforming power of God’s love so that all may come to know Christ.”

Originally from Southern California, my family and I moved from Los Angeles to Virginia Beach in 2007, a move that in so many ways was guided and blessed by God.  My husband, Bob; our daughter, Sarah; and I were welcomed by the Messiah family upon our arrival in Virginia, and we became active members of our new church home.  In 2016, the Lord (and Pastor Marty) called me to join the staff at Messiah as the Office Manager.

A million years ago I graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree and no idea of what to do with it.  I bounced around in a variety of jobs, from writing resumes to loan processing, before landing at the University of Southern California as a secretary in their fundraising division.  After our daughter was born, I found a job closer to home at a local storage and shipping container company, where as a member of the marketing department I developed skills in writing and graphic design.  After moving to Virginia in 2007, I became the marketing director for a financial company, and then in 2011 became a full-time freelance graphic designer.  All these jobs gave me experiences and skills that I’ve been happy to apply to serving Church of the Messiah.

My most important and fulfilling job, however, is as wife and mother.  Bob and I have been married for 25+ years, and our twenty-something Gen-Z daughter is a talented writer and artist and college student.  We live in Virginia Beach with Bob’s mom, Sandi, and our small menagerie of pets.

I consider my role at Messiah to be not only my job but my ministry, and I love welcoming and helping members of our church family.  I am extra blessed to be accepted and loved by them in return!
