These workshops are appropriate for parents, guardians, and grandparents of children of all ages, infants to teens, and anyone who thinks that they might become a parent or wants to be a good "auntie" or "unkie."
All workshops are free and open to the public.
Free childcare is available upon request for ages 10 and under.

Intimate Marriage &
Paul and Becky VanValin have been married for 43 years and have raised three sons. They founded Eden Counseling and Consulting in 1995 and are family therapists and workshop leaders in marriage and family topics. They have mentored many young couples.
Parents need to develop and maintain an intimate marriage relationship, and each parent needs to build and maintain an intimate relationship with each child. We will learn how parental expectations sometimes limit intimacy, and how to engage with empathy to direct and encourage the natural gifts of each child. We will present ideas to find the necessary time so that everyone flourishes.
Following a 45-minute presentation, a panel of seasoned parents will join Becky and Paul to answer questions.

Discipline for the
Rick Barry is a licensed counselor at Eden Counseling and Consulting. Rick works with families that have one or more really headstrong children. Rick will present practical solutions for training and discipline to try when our old methods just aren’t working.
Following a 45-minute presentation, a panel of seasoned parents will join Rick to answer questions.

Parenting Children with
Bonnie Erb, PhD and Diane Neighbarger are licensed therapists who have extensive experience working with families with children who have special needs. These children may have formal diagnoses of Attention Deficits, Autism Spectrum, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, or other emotional or behavioral problems. Diane has extensive experience working with parents who are adopting.
Bonnie and Diane will speak from their vast experience about bonding, finding resources, helping the children develop socially, adopting children with special needs, and caring for self as parent.
Following a 45-minute presentation, a panel of seasoned parents who are raising children with special needs will join Bonnie and Diane to answer questions.
