Monday, November 29 | Luke 21:25-28

25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

I’m so grateful that our LORD lets His people know what is coming so that we can be prepared. These signs sound terrifying, and He is well aware of our weakness, even believers, but He tell us us to stand up and lift up our heads! God tells us not to fear. If we believe that He loves us perfectly, His perfect love casts out fear, all fear. My prayer is that we use our time wisely and to love those He puts in our lives and pray consistently for opportunities to share our faith with unbelievers because the time is short - King Jesus is returning in power and great glory!!

"Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call;

So lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee and out of Zion's hill salvation comes!"

This is a grand statement that has not yet happened, but all will see it to complete a new reconciliation between God, mankind and nature.

The passage reminds us that everyone will see the Son of Man coming, not like the first time and not only believers. I pray Lord for those especially in my family that need to surrender their lives to Jesus before He comes back.

I think this helps us prepare for Christmas - and for his return! - by recognizing that Jesus shows up in the darkest of times. It often baffles us because we'd like him to come sooner! It seems he wants his children to fully trust him, through the most challenging of times, maybe for our own sake...for our endurance and faith. But also because when he does rush in with salvation it will be all that more stunning to the watching world.
